Our Location and
Riding Mill Outdoor Preschool is located in the grounds of a small rural village school in the Tyne Valley, approximately 6 miles east of Hexham.
The ethos of our setting is very much geared towards outdoor education with an emphasis on encouraging a love of the natural world.
Also on site is our engineering shed which offers opportunities for art, design and construction, and our peaceful yurt providing a cosy haven for quiet times.
Children spend most of their time outside where they can, run, climb, swing, explore nature, build, dig and have fun with their peers.
We like to connect with our local community whenever possible, visiting village woodlands, playpark, community coffee shop and also a local residential home for shared movement and dance sessions.
The preschool enjoys strong links with neighbouring Broomhaugh C of E First School, where children usually move on to the Reception class.
